I have tried guayusa in the past and really enjoyed it so when there was the opportunity to review some in a tea bag, I just had to give it a try. Guayusa is a really healthy herb that makes for some great tea. And it really doesn't hurt that it gives you some pep. This is off of the Runa website. I did want to mention also that I wasn't that impressed by the website as several links aren't working at this time.

Health Benefits of Drinking Guayusa*:

Boosts Metabolism
Traditionally used to support weight loss programs
Aids digestion1
Traditionally used to balance blood sugar and support diabetics2
Boosts Physical Energy
Increased mental clarity and alertness

All of the bags come individually sealed in an airtight envelope to ensure freshness. Once I opened it, the most delightful blend of warmth and coolness wafted out from the cinnamon and lemongrass. The ingredients are Organic RUNA Guayusa, Organic Lemongrass, Organic Cinnamon. It is also certified both organic and kosher.

I followed the instructions on the page and poured boiling water over the cup and let it steep for 6 minutes. The aroma is still very present though it has faded somewhat. That is to be expected though.

It really does have a 'green' taste that is very fresh. It reminds me of picking a clover stem and nibbling on it. The bite from the cinnamon really enhances that taste and is warming. The lemongrass isn't really that present except in the for a brief time at the very end, and then cinnamon comes back in a lingering aftertaste.

I enjoyed this herbal blend and wouldn't mind picking up a box of it. Tossing a couple in my purse would come in handy for those times when I am looking for a pick me upper but caffeine wont' fit the bill.
