Thumbs up!"This isn't my favorite bagged tea that I have tried though it is a solid offering for anyone looking to just toss some tea in their bag or pocket to ensure that they have a decent tea handy to quaff. "

I just love the quiet mornings before anyone else gets to moving. It's the perfect time to enjoy that slice of cheesecake left over from last night's potluck and to sample new teas. This morning I decided to try one of the samples that I have that comes in a tea sachet.

This particular tea comes from Boston Tea Co which is a vendor that I have tried before. Overall, I have been pleased by the quality of their offerings though I have primarily sampled their loose leaf teas. This time around the tea comes to me individually wrapped in a sealed plastic envelope containing one tea sachet. It's a lovely way to ensure freshness however the plastic envelope is so large that it really is a waste. In this case, I could tell how fresh the tea is when I tear open just a corner of the envelope and the aromas of lemon and cranberry just pours out at me. I was surprised to discover though that when I look at the ingredients that there is no actual lemon or cranberries used. The ingredients consist of organic Chinese and Indian black tea, organic Hibiscus, Lemongrass, Rose Petals, Cranberry and Lemon flavor.

The website is lacking on brewing instructions so I ended up using boiling water and let it steep for 3.5 minutes. The resulting cup of tea still has the scents of lemon and cranberry though it is much muted now.

I can tell that Boston Tea Co used a combo of good black teas for a base as it does make its presence known being very smooth with a well rounded taste. I also able to pick out the cranberry and lemon flavors as well as the hibiscus and lemongrass which play really well together in providing one with a sweet tart cup of tea. Not quite sure part the rose petals contribute other then maybe some color in the teabag.

This isn't my favorite bagged tea that I have tried though it is a solid offering for anyone looking to just toss some tea in their bag or pocket to ensure that they have a decent tea handy to quaff. Boston Tea Co also offers several different bagged teas if this one doesn't suit your tastes and they are reasonably priced.
