Golden Monkey the black tea version of silver needle in the world of white tea. The black tea leaves are twirled and have a vein of golden accent running though them. The taste is a very earthy, musty black flavour with hints of deep milky cacao. (Remember that cacao is not synonymous chocolate). The brew is a deep gold colour with foamy circlet that forms in the cup right after brewing. I am particularly infatuated with teas that create foam because it reminds me of some of my favourite imported stouts. So that is a plus for this particular Golden Monkey. The cup is a wonderful mouthful of long lasting flavour.

Reliable and profound depth make this tea a regular steady to keep on hand when everything else in life seems variable.
