Sacred Rose offers a series of therapeutic vibrational tisanes (yes, that's right) geared towards activating “specific physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pattern for those who drink these healing blends”. According to their philosophy, herbs heal through their natural resonance with the human body. This particular all-organic mixture of passion flower, skullcap, chamomile and valerian is designed to promote calm and relaxation. The tisane a pretty blend of pale greens and yellows, dominated by the honeyed scent of chamomile and something akin to sweet hay.

In the absence of more specific directions I followed my usual method for tisanes, steeping a generous teaspoonful in 8 ounces of boiling water. After a 5 minute infusion the deep yellow liquor is scented again with chamomile, along with fennel-like notes. The savoury, nutty elements of the cup contrast nicely with the sweetness of the chamomile. The finish delivers an almost minty tinge. Again I'm reminded of fennel. It's grassier tasting than some herbal teas but because the flavours are well blended, it comes across more as a pleasant night cap than a medicinal sleep aid.

A second 7 minute infusion is palatable but predictably blander than the first. The chamomile makes a strong showing, followed by the sweet, grassy finish. While certainly drinkable, I'd have to be either running really low on herbal teas or feeling really lazy to aim for a second steeping again.

I can't say that it helped putting me to sleep but the overall effect of this cup is pleasantly calming and soothing. This well crafted tisane would make a nice change of pace for those looking for a change from plain old chamomile. However at 18$ for a 3 ounce box, vibrational healing or not, you could probably find similar, cheaper blends to fit the bill.
