I love the cryptic names BOH Tea gives some of its blends.  Tasting and reviewing "Blend L" makes me feel like I'm in a Pink Panther movie, or on an episode of  "Get Smart."

"We're on to something, Chief.  We've found super secret formulas designed to take over the world, cleverly disguised as tea."

That's as close as I'll ever get to being a secret agent.  Still, drinking something called " Blend L" is fun, especially because it tastes so good.    There's nothing mysterious or secret about the looks of these leaves:  dark, small, fannings, aka "tea dust", something I'm told to stay away from if I were a real "tea connoisseur."  But I can't help it.  I love the stuff.

BOH Tea is the the largest tea producer in Malaysia.  The company sells a lot of tea,(4 million kilograms annually, which translates to about 5.5 million cups per day, according to their website.) Most, if not all, of their blends are broken leaf varieties.  Their web store carries primarily bagged tea.  I have tasted several, and all of them are good.

"Blend L"  is fertile smelling, like a sweet, loamy soil.  It's the kind of tea  you'd get at a pub after hours, or something you'd brew up for your friends for a casual get-together.   It's easy to  make.  Just steep it in boiling water for three to five minutes, grab  a few  large, hefty mugs, and get out the cookies.  Its a comforting, non-confrontational blend  that is hearty enough for milk and sugar, but mild and balanced enough for those who like tea straight up.

While "Blend L" isn't as tasty as BOH"s "special dust 1", it is pleasant and easy going down.  I give it a 7.8
