I was very happy to stumble across this particular tea whose aroma reminds me of nothing as much as a pumpkin pie. This blend consists of Ceylon, cinnamon pieces, pumpkin flakes, nutmeg, and natural flavors. It's all organic and vegan if that is important to you. I set it up to brew using 2 rounded tablespoons (the leaves were rather large) to 1200ml of filtered water. I set the water temp at 210 degrees and a steep time of 2.5 minutes.
The resulting liquor is a dark umber color with the pumpkin aroma shining thru. Butiki's site recommended adding some brown crystal sugar to enhance the flavor of the cream so I added some rock sugar right off the bat.
My first sip was like an explosion of flavor in my mouth. The pumpkin and spices merge into a delicious tea that really does remind me of a slice of pumpkin pie. It's all about the pumpkin laying down a base while the spices dance about on my tongue. I am able to pick up just a hint of cream in the lingering aftertaste.
This tea is a delicious dessert tea that doesn't even need a drop of cream to make it so. It's one that I would keep around for the cold days when a piece of pie sounds mouthwateringly delicious. I know that I will probably keep a stock of this tea just for those occasions especially as it is so reasonably priced.
