Containing green rooibos, lemon grass, lemon peel, lemon myrtle, calendula, and natural flavors, this caffeine-free tisane provides a wide range of lemony goodness. Dominated by yellows and pale greens, the blend looks like a potpourri of dried, wild grasses and petals. It smells strong and abrasive, like a mix of lemonade and turpentine.

Following the instructions provided, I infused a tablespoonful of the blend in 8 ounces of freshly boiled water for 5 minutes. The brew smells bright and lemony, fortunately minus the chemical cleaner overtone this time. This tisane provides a nicely balanced cup. All aspects of lemon flavour seem to be at play here. A touch of zest lends a darker, more bitter backdrop, that highlights the tarter tones of the herbs. At the same time, the green rooibos enhances their sweetness. I found this blend to be naturally quite sweet and saw no need to add any extra sweetener. Overall the citrus taste is interesting and layered. It manages the feat of being strong without being too tart or bitter.

A palatable second cup can be had following a 7 minute infusion. The rooibos' flavour seems to have petered out but the herbs are still going strong. The results are less smooth and well rounded but worth a sip anyway.

This brew is a must for lemon lovers. It provides a well developed, realistic and intricate citrus flavour. I found this to be an excellent tisane to drink iced as well. This blend would also be something I would turn to if I was nursing a cold for its soothing and mildly sinus-clearing properties. I look forward to trying more of the Tea Districts well crafted offerings.
