The leaves of this Super Dragonwell are as you'd expect, nice jade color, flattened leaves as though sent through a roller. The leaves are medium long in length.

I used a teaspoon of leaf to 8 ounces of 175 degree water and used a time of 3 minutes for my first infusion. The tea tastes great, right off the bat. The infusion is very pale and a light honey gold color. The taste exudes toasted flavor just slightly as well as somewhat grainy or nutty element along with a light pure vegetal flavor that is very fresh. To wind up these simple, clear and distinct flavors is an excellent astringent close that adds cleanliness to the finish. I'd like to be more profuse, but this is simply a good tasting, genuinely flavorful and enjoyable tea. I enjoy that the simplicity of tastes is mirrored in simple preparation requirements that are easy to replicate.

Some other notes I made about this tea while enjoying it...the tea is sweet but not overtly so. It's also vegetal without being overtly vegetal. The sweet and the vegetal are definite flavor components but are not so highly noticeable that they dominate the tea's flavor profile.

The other distinguishing feature of this tea is a pleasant charred, cooked flavor that I attribute to the processing of the tea leaf. You can taste this element of the flavor throughout the sip and also the presence at the close of this good taste really makes this tea uniquely delicious.

A second infusion is enjoyable and has more delicious brothy and vegetal notes than the first infusion.

Good leaf!!
