I love pineapples and have found that as the year goes on, I start to crave them. So this tea is perfect to brighten up the gloomy day. This tea is unusual looking with whole tea leaves that a mix of brown and green. There are a lot of stems still attached to the leaves. And then there is a lot of lemongrass also added to the mix along with a couple good sized pineapple pieces. According the ingredients, there are also licorice and pineapple flavors added. The aroma however is all about the pineapple.

I set up my tea-maker using 4 rounded tablespoons of the blend (the leaves didn't fit easily into my measuring spoon) to 1200 ml of water. I set the water temp to 190 degrees and let it steep for 5 minutes. The resulting liquor is the rich gold that you get with some of the Chinese white teas.

The aroma is a delight. It is primarily pineapple with the lemongrass poking its head up. The pineapple doesn't however make an appearance in the flavor. Instead you get the nuttiness from the tea leaves and the lemon from the lemongrass. There is just a hint of the licorice in a faint aftertaste.

For my tastes I would have really preferred more pineapple but I will admit that this is a pleasant tea. Unlike a lot of white teas, this one doesn't demand your whole attention which makes it great for every day sipping.
