HulaDaddyLogoFrom what I can tell, this herbal is made from the berry husks that surround the coffee beans. At least, that's what it looks like - dried fruit husks. My first complaint for this tea is that the website doesn't have much information on their teas (though there is plenty about their coffee), but since this is so unique, I'd love to know everything I can about it. As the website doesn't have specific instructions, I winged the steeping: One teaspoon per cup at 195° for five minutes.

The cup's scent is an odd combination of spicy, fruity, and sweet. It's like chili flakes mixed with honeyed pears. The taste is very savoury and very unique. Roasted and somewhat spicy with a slight creaminess. There's a slight hint of charred coffee combined with smoke, fruit, and honey. It's one of the oddest combinations I've encountered in a drink, but it's weirdly delicious.

It's not the sort of tea I'm going to crave often, but every once in awhile I'll see it on my shelf and think, "Yeah, that looks good." Of course, the major problem with this is that the smallest quantity you can buy is 8 ounces. I honestly don't think I'd ever go through a half-pound of this before it went stale. But if I could find someone to share it with or split an order with, I'd probably take the plunge. Spicy and smoky, this is a very warming cup and the perfect fall tea. If you ever get the chance, definitely give it a try.
