I've been a bit wary of trying this tea because, honestly, Red Leaf Teas' matchas tend to be somewhat hit or miss and the last unique-sounding ones I've tried were more miss than hit. And pumpkin pie matcha is about as unique as a matcha can get.

I sift the powder, add water, and whisk. The matcha froths up nicely and smells predominantly of nutmeg with hits of cinnamon. The flavour I get first is cinnamon, followed in short order by the nutmeg. There's some definite pumpkin, a feature I find impressive, but not as amazing as the creaminess. There's a slight hint of cream in the aftertaste, which makes me think of whipped cream on the top of a piece of pumpkin pie.

The flavour is unbelievably spot on. I've tasted pumpkin pie flavours added to black teas before that have had an accurate flavour, but I've never tasted anything like this... I wouldn't have expected matcha and pumpkin to mix well, but they work great together. And not only is it a surprisingly accurate flavour, but it's also delicious. It's also a completely unique tea from what I know - I've never seen anything like it.
