American Tea Room Lapsang Souchong

10/10  —  1 review
Teaviews Member: Lynn Lynn's review:
"I've had Lapsangs that are "whack you over the head with a smoking log" strong and I find them harsh and unpleasant. I like mine strong but smooth, and balanced enough for the flavor of the tea to shine through. This one solidly meets that standard. "

"I can't say whether or not this blend is "better" than the Maple Bacon Tea, but it is definitely an equal, at least. They are notably different from one another, and both are well worth your investment."

"It had a good taste. A nice dark china tea flavor, and the smokiness has a very unique flavor to it. I tasted and tasted, trying to pick out what was unique about it - and I settled on a smoked pine flavor. I went back, and sure enough, my tongue had not deceived me! It is smoked over pine!!"

"The aroma was divine. Lapsangs are smoked over barkless pine branch fires, and this one had the most clearly pine fragrance I've encountered so far. All Lapsangs are smoky; this one is piney. "

"The taste is remarkable - far superior to that of any Lapsang I have encountered to date. There is almost a creaminess to it, to accompany, complement and offset the smokiness inherent to the tea."

American Tea Room Samovar Blend

8/10  —  1 review
Teaviews Member: Lynn Lynn's review:
"The aroma was soft and silky: light, smoky, milky, with sweet, fine leather notes of the black tea. Given that, the flavor came as something of a surprise: brisk and astringent, with notes of smoke, mineral, wood, and very interesting little tart sparkles here and there on the tongue, but a hint of a bitter edge, too."
